Competitions awards

Joanna Marcinkowska has won awards and prizes at twenty-one international and Polish piano competitions and festivals, including:

- the 2nd prize at the 7th National Polish Piano Competition in Konin (1992);

- the 1st prize at the International Fryderyk Chopin Competition "Chopin for the Youngest" in Antonin (1993);

- the 3rd prize at the 1st National Polish Piano Competition in Gdańsk (1993);

- the 1st prize at the National Polish Competition of Ensembles of Chamber Music in Bydgoszcz, and an award for the best pianist of the Competition (1994);

- the Special Award at the 4th International Competition for Young Pianists in Ettlingen ( Germany ) – 1994;

- the 1st distinction at the 27th International Piano Competition VIRTUOSI PER MUSICA DI PIANOFORTE in Ústí nad Labem, Czech Republic (1994);

- the 1st prize and the Grand Prix “Apollo’s Chariot” at the National Polish Competition of Chamber Music in Wrocław (1995);

- the thirst degree scholarship of the Frederic Chopin Society at the 28th Frederic Chopin Artistic Scholarships National Piano Competition in Warsaw (1995);

- the 1st prize at the International Piano Competition “Artur Rubinstein In Memoriam” in Byd¬goszcz (1996);

- the scholarship of the J.E.S.C. Music Foundation in Japanfor the best young Polish pianist (Warsaw – 1996 );

- the main prize at the 30th Festival of Polish Piano Art in Słupsk (1996);

- the main prize at the “Renault” Competition for Young Talents in Warsaw (1997);

- the 2nd prize at the National “YAMAHA” Piano Competition in Gdańsk (1999);

- the award – the scholarship at the National Fryderyk Chopin Competition for Candidates for the 14th International Fryderyk Chopin Competition in Warsaw (2000);

- the 2nd prize and a special award for the best performance of pieces by Szymanowski at the 5th International Karol Szymanowski Competition as well as the special award of the Dutch Music Society "Chopin – Szymanowski" - Łódź (2001);

- the 3rd prize and an award of the audience at the 5th Tomassoni International Piano Competition in Cologne, Germany (2001);

- the 1st prize at the 7th European Chopin Competition in Darmstadt (2002).
