(…The Polish pianists were delightful. Particularly conspicuous was Joanna Marcinkowska, with her breathtaking musical and intellectual abilities, which deny her young age. I was enchanted by her recital in the second stage, especially of the Sonata in F sharp Minor by Schumann. I was also impressed by her performance in the final stage of the competition, when she proved that she can cooperate with the orchestra, and much better than the other nominees. In short, she played like a mature artist.
